When I am not of god, of your spirit, I cannot help others, only hurt.

 Just this moment my understanding of this verse, below, doesn't feel so vague anymore. 

When I am not of God, powerfully anchored in your spirit gospel jesus, I can only hurt others to some degree small or large. 

When, as has been true most of my decades, my love for someone or something has been greater than my love for you, to that extent crowding you from centrality to the sidelines, I have thereby destroyed my ability to help. 

I suppose this is the rare true case where you have to help yourself before you can help someone else. 

And if I let anything come between me and my central tactile connection to you and your spirit gospel jesus, I have thereby destroyed my ability to help another.
